Hagerstown Community College Arts & Sciences Complex is model of energy efficiency

A new five-story STEM facility on the Hagerstown Community College campus boasts state-of-the-art classrooms and labs for science, cyber security, engineering, mathematics, and alternative energy technology programs. Collaborating with Cho Benn Holback + Associates, James Posey Associates designed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the 65,000 square-foot STEM building to be a model for energy efficiency. Working demonstrations of geothermal technology, solar panels, and wind-generated power, together with a green roof system and occupancy lighting controls, are all integral parts of the commitment to sustainable design strategies provided for this project.
