James Posey Associates celebrates Engineers Week

JPA commemorated National Engineers Week by inviting a student enrolled in Eastern Technical High School’s engineering program to spend a few hours with us. Victoria Johns, a senior who has been accepted to some of the top engineering schools in the nation, reported after her visit to our office that she is now serious about a major in mechanical engineering. Earlier in the week, two of our mechanical engineers, Zach Haupt and Kate Bodner, participated in a student mentoring and design competition at the Engineers Society of Baltimore for ASHRAE. They worked with local high school students to discuss career opportunities in mechanical engineering, and guided them in the design, assembly and testing of a wind turbine apparatus for a hypothetical net-zero facility.
