New Carver Center for Arts & Technology serves premier students of the arts

Baltimore County’s premier magnet school for the arts, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, needed a dynamic educational facility that could accommodate the broad range of curriculum at the core of the school’s unique identity. As MEP consultants for Grimm + Parker Architects, James Posey Associates designed the mechanical and electrical systems in this three-story, 235,000-SF new facility, which is currently pursuing USGBC LEED Gold certification. Sustainable features include geothermal heating and cooling for select areas, high-efficiency condensing boilers and water-cooled chillers, and an energy-efficient lighting system featuring daylight harvesting.
