North Eastern Maryland students now served by Towson University Academic Center at Harford Community College

This recently completed LEED registered building establishes a satellite campus for Towson University to meet increasing demand by northeast Maryland residents for bachelor and graduate degree program. JPA provided MEP design services to GWWO Architects for a new 55,560-SF building designed as a learning “garden” in response to the rural landscape of the site. It is oriented for solar harvesting and shading, and incorporates many other sustainable design features, such as a hydropneumatic storage tank and low flow plumbing fixtures. Targeting LEED Silver certification, it houses classrooms, nursing and wet labs, computer rooms, a 120-seat tiered auditorium/lecture hall, and retail and food services.
