Historic Annapolis Post Office Restoration

JPA provided MEP design for the restoration and modernization of this historic facility. Built in 1901, the Annapolis Post Office was in operation until 2015, when the state bought the property for $3.2M. The U.S. Postal Service continued to use it until 2017, when it was shut down and design and construction teams began their work to transform the nearly 120-year facility into state government offices. JPA provided MEP design services for the restoration and modernization of this 22,000-SF building, including HVAC, power, interior lighting, building/site-mounted site lighting, power/natural gas utility connections and gas piping, a site distribution pathway for IT connection, updated design based on floor plan changes and project complexities, tenant floor plan modifications, and an EV charging station. The building achieved LEED Silver certification.
