Pinkard Building, School of Nursing

JPA provided MEP/FP design and construction administration for this $31.7M, 6-story addition and renovation project, including HVAC and plumbing systems, DDC control systems, fire protection and fire alarm systems, lighting and lighting control systems, power distribution systems, pathways and provisions for low voltage systems, and coordination of communication and technology-based systems.  Incorporating BIM, sustainable design principles, and IgCC compliance path to satisfy Baltimore City’s Green Building Standards, the scope included demolition of the existing School of Nursing House; construction of a 41,000-SF addition to the Pinkard Building; full renovation of more than 30,000-SF of academic, office, lab, and support spaces; limited renovation of an additional 67,000-SF; conversion of nearly 1,000-SF; and additional minor renovations in the Rangos Building.
