National Institutes of Health
National Institutes of Health: Bethesda, MD
JPA has completed MEP design for over 100 individual projects on almost every campus of the National Institutes of Health during the last twenty-five years. Projects vary from single lab-module renovations to entire building renovations, as well as new construction. We continue to enjoy designing MEP systems for the extremely diverse projects found on each NIH campus, including BSL2/3 laboratories, vivaria, cage wash / autoclave facilities, clean rooms, research equipment (SEMs/Magnets) installations, and G20 grant applications. In addition to projects on the main campus in Bethesda, JPA has completed numerous projects for NIH on their Bayview Campus in Baltimore, and their leased facilities in the District of Columbia metropolitan area. Design for these projects has included a wide array of specialized laboratory systems and utilities, such as liquid nitrogen, pure water, electrical grounding, stringent space temperature, humidity and pressurization controls, and redundancy and emergency back-up for critical functions.
