Percy Julian School of Business

Coppin State University’s renovation and addition to the four-story, 64,390-SF Percy Julian Building addressed critical needs for the School of Business and provided a focus for the University’s graduate education mission. The scope of work called for the addition of an elevator to the outside of the building and two additions (12,200-SF) enclosing the roof areas. In the process, instructional spaces, office suites, and support facilities were all redesigned to bring them in line with current standards, accessibility, and code compliance. The MEP scope for this building included new HVAC systems and equipment, standard and fine arts lighting, electrical infrastructure for renewable energy, LEED Gold design and certification, construction management assistance, and collaboration with a third-party commissioning agent.
