Student Services Center

Montgomery College recently completed its new Rockville campus Student Services Center, which anchors the campus’ pedestrian mall and provides classroom, laboratories, offices, testing areas, study space, food service and café areas, lounges. JPA provided MEP design for this $49.1M, 125,000-SF facility, including a new central heating plant for the entire campus, and a chilled water plant to support the building during occupied hours and during unoccupied hours while the campus central plant charges ice thermal energy storage.  Phasing allowed the new heating water plant to be brought online before the existing one was removed from operation. The project anticipates LEED Silver Certification.
