Baltimore Food Hub

American Communities Trust: Baltimore, MD

Since 2014, JPA has been involved with American Communities Trust in the rehab and adaptive re-use of five 19th-century brick structures located on a 3.5-acre campus in East Baltimore. Known as the Baltimore Food Enterprise Center and Baltimore Food Hub Site, this $25M project involves renovation, updating, and restoration of these buildings abandoned in the 1990s, to incorporate businesses, food production, teaching spaces, commercial and retail, flex manufacturing space, offices, and a year-round market. To date, Phases 1 ($4.2M, 7,500-SF Incubator Building with teaching & commercial kitchens) and 2 ($1.8M Building 3) have been completed.
