Baltimore Food Hub

JPA has provided MEP engineering design for the rehabilitation of several historic structures on the Baltimore Food Hub site, a former city water pumping station built in the 1890s. This $25M project involves the renovation, modernization, and restoration of five historic buildings, abandoned in the 1990s, to incorporate businesses, food production, teaching spaces, maker spaces for local entrepreneurs, flex manufacturing, offices, and a planned year-round market. JPA has been involved with the project since 2014, providing full-service MEP design and construction administration services for new MEP/FP systems, LEED Silver certification, permitting packages, separate building and tenant sub-metering (natural gas and electricity), site lighting, power distribution, and design and specifications for future telecom fit-out packages.
