Hoen Lithograph Building Adaptive Re-Use

The Hoen Lithograph Building, constructed in the late 1800s, was actually six separate structures sharing common walls and connected by walkways. Sitting vacant since 1981, the historic buildings were in disrepair and in need of full rehabilitation. Programming for this $18M, 80,000-SF project included a combination of commercial office space, a job training center, residential apartments with amenities, and dining. Stabilizing the existing structures and design of core and shell systems for the buildings were key, and the core and shell fit-out was designed to allow for maximum future flexibility. JPA providing initial conceptual, rehab design, and construction administration services for this assignment, which also qualified for historic tax credits.
