Student Center & Museum Renovations

The Boys Latin School: Baltimore, MD

Over the last five years, JPA has been privileged to work on several projects on the campus of the Boys Latin School (BLS), providing a full range of master planning, programming, and MEP/FP design. Among other assignments, JPA has participated in the Campus Master Plan, Student Center & Museum Renovations, Gelston Athletic Center (GAC) Renovations, Upper School (Williams, Sinclair/Hopkins Halls) Renovations & Additions, and St. Joseph Manor Repurposing.

This $750k project involved renovations to 4,000-SF within the Williams and Hopkins/Sinclair Halls, converting the space from an open student center and cafeteria to a new student center and museum. Completed in 2017, the renovated student center includes a lounge and study space, and is primarily open plan, with one staff office. The new museum space is used for displaying fixed exhibits of historical artifacts, and for classroom instruction of up to 20 students.
