St. Joseph Manor
The Boys Latin School: Baltimore, MD
Over the last five years, JPA has been privileged to work on several projects on the campus of the Boys Latin School (BLS), providing a full range of master planning, programming, and MEP/FP design. Among other assignments, JPA has participated in the Campus Master Plan, Student Center & Museum Renovations, Gelston Athletic Center (GAC) Renovations, Upper School (Williams, Sinclair/Hopkins Halls) Renovations & Additions, and St. Joseph Manor Repurposing.
St. Joseph Manor is a 25,000-GSF vacant retirement home facility sitting adjacent to the BLS campus. JPA performed an MEP/FP condition assessment, planning study, and design for renovations and an addition to re-purpose it as a student residence building. Construction of a 1,600-SF single-story addition on the facility’s east side to create a faculty apartment is proposed. Scope includes retaining existing walls, updating finishes and plumbing, modernization of the 2nd floor bedrooms, renovations to the 1st and 2nd floor common areas, and future kitchen updates. Systemic upgrades include a new systems for chilled water, domestic hot water, and emergency power.
