Snowden Farm Elementary School

Montgomery County Public Schools: Clarksburg, MD

This new $25.7M, 87,000-SF elementary school evolved from the MCPS prototype and serves as a neighborhood hub in the heart of the Clarksburg community. Each prototype version has attempted to fit into the community it serves, offering the latest technologies and current learning pedagogies. Designed to accommodate 754 students, the school includes high floor-to-floor and ceiling heights, customized structural arrangements and fenestration, and instructional spaces organized around a courtyard. The light-filled classrooms feature a Boxlight interactive panel, giving students the opportunity to learn through one-to-one technology, and flexible furniture that can be configured for project-based learning and other groupings, increasing student engagement. JPA provided MEP/FP services for this LEED Gold school.
