Hagerstown Community College: Hagerstown, MD
This $10.5M addition and renovation project finished the College’s Arts & Sciences Complex, also designed by JPA. Completed in two phases, Phase 1 consisted of a new, 2-story, 19,000-SF performing and visual arts education center and the renovation of the existing 18,300-SF theater building. Phase 2 involved study and infrastructure upgrade to the central utility plant and campus chilled water system. Programmed spaces involved addition of a dance and drama studio, visual art classrooms, computer lab, art gallery, academic classrooms, offices, and public facilities. Renovated areas included an expanded lobby, refurbished fixed main theater seating for 500, multi-function are connecting the two buildings, reconfigured support spaces, and ADA-compliant upgrades throughout.
