Washington Monument Re-opens

You can once again visit the top of the Washington Monument for sweeping views of the capitol! After being closed for more than three years, the Washington Monument reopened to the public, along with a new $10.7M visitor screening center. Working for the project’s prime architect, Beyer Blinder Belle, and owner, the National Park Service, JPA provided MEP design and construction phase services, including significant site coordination to incorporate a geothermal-based, heat pump system, site improvements for increased power and communications demand, and special provisions for security and screening equipment.
